Dr Dawn is a part time GP in Gloucestershire where she also runs specialist clinics focusing on women's health and weight management. The rest of her week is spent talking and writing in the media on medical issues.
She trained at Charing Cross & Westminster Medical School in London. She spent several years working in hospital specialities during which she became a member of the Royal College of Physicians before then starting a family and moving into general practice. Her formal qualifications are Medical Batchelor Batchelor of Science, Member of the Royal College of Physicians, Diploma of Child Health, Diploma of the Faculty of Family Planning.
Dr Dawn co-presents Channel 4's most popular show Embarrassing Bodies and the BAFTA award winning website www.channel4.com/bodies. She is also a regular on ITV's "This Morning". She has appeared on numerous other television
programmes including Live with Gabby ,The Gadget Show and The Wright Stuff on Five, Sunrise on Sky, Looking Good Feeling Great & Today on ITV.
Dawn is an excellent public speaker and is often booked to give key note presentations at conferences on a range of medical topics. She also regularly presents medical corporate videos and is involved with health related PR activities and campaigns involving radio days and press briefings.
Dawn is a keen supporter of children's charities. For the last two years she has led Team GP on a fundraising cycle from London to Paris in aid of Touching Tiny Lives www.action.org.uk.
She is a trustee of 100 Helping Hands. In 2012 she will be coordinating the Harvey 100 which is a 100km charity cycle ride in the Cotswold hills raising money to support disabled children. To find out more and support this cause go to www.100hh.org
